Tucked away on a rocky promontory on Antigua’s south side, Curtain Bluff coaxes visitors from life’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it pace into a tranquil and enchanting island paradise. Flanked on both sides by the stunning Caribbean sea, this welcoming repose beckons visitors with breathtaking views.
Our 72 spacious suites and guest rooms offer gaze-all-day views of the pristine, palm-shaded beach and rocky bluff that gives the resort its name. All of our accommodations are situated directly on the sand or just a few steps from it so you’re never more than a moment away from dipping your toes in the crashing waves.
Blending contemporary luxuries with classic Caribbean influences, our beach front guest rooms are thoughtfully designed to bring the beauty and splendor of the Caribbean sea to your doorstep.
Located just a stone’s throw from the water on the resort’s surf beach are our 17 ground floor junior suites. The serene interiors are outfitted in soft blues and greens that mirror the adjacent water, which glitters through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Grand marble and white-tile bathrooms feature double sinks, expansive soaking tubs and large, open-walled showers.
Accessible via a flight of stairs, our 23 junior suites are situated on the second and third stories of two villas on the resort’s surf beach. Coastal interiors inspired by our natural surroundings are bordered by floor-to-ceiling glass doors that invite you to take in the sea views from your private terrace. Roomy bathrooms feature double sinks, large tubs, and rainforest-style showers.
Housed in a Caribbean-style villa, our eighteen ground and upper floor deluxe rooms open directly onto our surf beach and are just a short walk down a shaded pathway from the bar and restaurant. As you step through the large sliding doors, you’ll be greeted by traditional West-Indian style decor, contemporary dark wood furniture and colorful accents that evoke the spirit of the islands.
Alarm clocks become a thing of the past as you awaken to calming breezes and the gentle lull of crashing waves in one of our blufftop accommodations. Open-air layouts and elegant coastal furnishings soothe the senses and serve as the ideal setting for your island getaway.
Experience blufftop luxury from the comfort of our newly renovated bluff rooms. Each room features a king-size bed, freestanding tub, large terrace with daybed and incredible views of the turquoise waters below. For families requiring two bedrooms, the bluff room can be added to a one-bedroom bluff suite.
Overlooking our surf beach from their perch atop the bluff are our five one- and two-bedroom bluff suites. These light and airy rooms are split across three spacious levels outfitted with natural wood and sea-grass furniture. The three-walled living room offers the best of indoor-outdoor living, opening onto a garden patio with relaxing hammock where you’ll enjoy dozing off to the sound of the waves. Upstairs, you’ll find a breakfast nook and dining terrace, beyond which is the bedroom with an ensuite bath and adjoining oceanfront patio.
Named in honor of our resort’s founder, this exclusive tier of suites is the epitome of style and comfort. Luxurious features like private plunge pools, marble fixtures and unparalleled views of the sparkling blue Caribbean make the Hulford Collection the crown jewel of Curtain Bluff’s accommodations.
This pair of generously scaled suites occupies the third floor of a Caribbean-style villa directly on the sands of the resort’s surf beach. Both suites are luxuriously outfitted with blue-marble bathrooms, colonial furniture, richly colored fabrics and lush palms. The bedroom and adjoining living room open onto a sweeping veranda with lounge chairs and a private plunge pool.
Our terrace suite’s secluded location at the top of the bluff and breathtaking views of the sea below make it the most popular choice for newlyweds. White walls, sea-blue fabrics, bespoke furnishings and rich, natural woods give the room a sense of calm and timeless sophistication. Its 567-square-foot terrace features an infinity-edge plunge pool and comfortable daybed.
Tucked into the hillside, our cliff suite features a spacious living room that opens onto a large patio with an infinity soaking pool and unobstructed views of Grace Bay beach. Its separate bedroom is elegantly appointed with a king-size bed, marble bathroom and second terrace overlooking the surf beach.
This open-air establishment serves up an expansive daily lunch offering (including our weekly beach barbecue accompanied by a steel-drum band). Dinner fare is an inventive blend of Italian and Antiguan influences with dishes like yellowtail tuna carpaccio, beetroot gnocchi and fresh-caught pan-seared wahoo filet.
The menu includes traditional favorites like banana pancakes, French toast and eggs benedict, plus traditional island dishes, fresh juice, fruit and baked goods prepared in house by our renowned pastry chef. In the evening, dinner tables awash in candlelight are set with a rotating five-course menu including salads, locally caught fish, outstanding meats, and many desserts.
To the left is Head Sommelier Glouster. Glouster is in his second tenure here which spans over 25 years. One of the original “Wine Crew” of late owner Howard Hulford, he is now responsible for leading the team and running the cellar in every aspect namely sourcing, purchasing and cellar and wine list management.
If lounging in the shade is a bit low-key for your tastes, our extensive selection of water sports ensures an all-day lineup of fun in the sun. All water sports are included in the room rate so you can snorkel, sail, ski, and paddle to your heart’s content.
Take a break from the waves with a pick-up game on our half basketball court, which is stocked with balls and fully lit for evening play. Up for trying something new? Grab a paddle and hit the pickleball court or break a sweat under the A/C in a game of squash.
Relaxing and intimate, our 5,000-square-foot spa sits apart from the rest of the resort just feet from the sea. Its four treatment rooms boast spectacular views over the water to distant Montserrat, Cades Reef, St. Kitts, Nevis, and Redonda. Before your treatment, unwind on the terrace sipping tea brewed from fresh herbs picked from the spa’s garden. Afterwards, allow your mind to wander and your body to decompress in our luxurious cliffside soaking tub over-indulgent refreshments.
Planning the perfect family vacation is a delicate balancing act. On one side of the scale, there’s the too-rigid itinerary that leaves kids feeling dragged along on mom and dad’s stuffy trip. On the other side, there’s the circus-like amusement park experience that leaves parents feeling anything but recharged. Curtain Bluff strikes the perfect balance between both sides, with ample activities to keep kids entertained yet within sight of the nearest hammock (which is conveniently serviced by a friendly beach concierge).
